LETTER OF THE LOCAL HOST
Dear colleagues and Friends
On behalf of the EURAPS Research Council, I am pleased to welcome you at the 13th annual meeting of ERC, that is going to be held in Palma de Mallorca, the main city of the Balearic Islands, along 28th-29th May 2025.
Plastic Surgery is one of the surgical fields that is living an amazing and creative evolution in basic research as well as in clinical research. From AI to stem cells therapies, composite tissue transplantation or 3D printing, many surgical teams are creating and developing interesting techniques that may result promising in several fields, even in short terms. Researching is moving fast, and amazing novelties can be presented within months. Many plastic surgery teams are creating their own labs and include researchers in their daily activities, which is translated in a significant increase in the scientific production.
ERC offers a wide and remarkable opportunity to present the research that emerging and consolidated groups are developing all around the world. As in past editions, we will be pleased to give a chance to young plastic surgeons. We will be ready to promote their efforts and works to obtain more visibility. It will be one of the most encouraging purposes in this meeting.
The future of plastic surgery is in our hands, therefore the importance of engaging in research, that seeks to provide a better understanding of our future steps. Research must be one of the strengths that we shall protect and develop, to ensure a brilliant future for the next generations.
Once again, abstract submission period will be coincident with EURAPS and a special issue of the JPRAS will be hosting all presented abstracts.
Please, don’t miss the opportunity to join this meeting and exchange your projects with colleagues from different countries. Palma de Mallorca will offer the best scientific climate to feel comfortable to share our ideas, but also to enjoy one of the most beautiful islands of the Mediterranean Sea, its monuments, its architecture, and the best beaches.
